Trabajos 1969 – 2017

Artist: Eugenio Dittborn

Art handler : Felipe Cooper

Special thanks to: Pedro Montes

«Trabajos, 1969-2017» («Works, 1969-2017») is a singular exhibition of Eugenio Dittborn’s trajectory over the last fifty years. The works that coexist here -from the airmail paintings to the last drawings made by Dittborn before he «stopped working with his hand»-effectively capture the attitude of an artist that distrusts last words and all fixed states of affairs (including that of his own work). Little by little and at a rhythm of small discoveries, this constellation of images and visual practices allows us to see what Ana María Risco calls an authentic pictorial poetics. A poetics where things that seem absolutely indeterminate are, in reality, the result of a calculation, in the same way that things that seem absolutely calculated lead us incessantly to the indeterminate.”

Natural History of Destruction

Artist: Jorge Tacla

The ruins with which we coexist are not only the debris and material remnants of the past; they are, above all, the testimony of the losses associated with that disappearance. They also force us to deal with a series of conflicting stubble, the immaterial rust of decaying political institutions, expired ideological structures and archaic biases […]

«In my work there is a continuity. I could also call it a set of variations on the same theme. Small chapters that always point to the same thing. They are closed, marginal spaces, spaces of minorities. One learns to travel through worlds that are closer than we think. It is as if one had […]
