Conversations at Il Posto: “Del cuerpo al archivo. Foto, video y libro-performance en Chile (1973-1990)»

Last Wednesday, May 11, at 7:00 pm, researcher Sebastián Valenzuela-Valdivia visited Il Posto Documentos to talk about some of the hypotheses exposed in his book «Del cuerpo al archivo. Photo, video and book-performance in Chile (1973-1990).» In this volume, the author invites us to reconsider curatorial and archival criteria to define new categories of analysis for the experimentation of the body and the use of media such as photography, video and book-performance, locating these practices in the framework of historicity and communicative power around sexual dissidence, transvestism and identity.

This conversation at Il Posto Documentos was moderated by researcher Paz López and triggered interesting reflections on the development of performative practices in Chile and the relationship they have with their documentary archives.
