Julia Toro

Talca, 1933

Visual artist and photographer. In 1970 she started her studies as a free student of Fine Arts at the University of Chile, where she studied engraving with Professor Julio Palazuelo.

She began her career in 1973 as a self-taught photographer. Her work addresses the theme of memory, since it has gone to the rescue of images linked to the course of the time and affection, collecting family photographs that show part of the evolution of Chilean society from 1870 to 1950.

In 1979 he was a Founding Member of the Arturo Edwards Room, of the Chilean Britannic Institute of Culture in Santiago.
