Juan Pablo Langlois

Santiago, 1936

Chilean Visual Artist, sculptor and installation artist.  In the first stage of his career was know as “Vicuña”.

Between 1952 and 1962 studied Architecture at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and then at Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.  Was deeply influenced by Josef Albers during a six month workshop that the Bauhaus teacher dictated in Chile.  In 1992 received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Universidad Arcis. 

Working with industrial produced materials, such as paper and plastics bags, creates objects and human figures in real scale.

His work is expressed through the ephemeral, where either the craft or technique, or even the mounting matters.
