Juan Downey

Chilean artist, pioneer of video-art and video-installation in the 70’s.

​Arquitect from the Catholic University of Chile with later studies at the SW Hayter’s 17 Workshop in Paris and at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.

​Downey focused on the social drama that affect individual rights and national sovereignty, openly opposing the United States imperialism during the Cold War.
