Claudio Correa

Arica, 1972

Chilean visual artist. Art Bachelor from the University of Chile and continued his training with a master’s in visual arts of the same study house.

An important part of his work has been devoted to history criticism and the problematization of the relationships that exist in the modern world between visual devices and structures of power and its influence on the shaping of Latin American identity in its various social, cultural, and political layers.

His investigation and research has taken the form of installations, sculptures, collages and videos that have appropriated elements of the «monumentalist sculpture», typical of the «modern project», to disturb this imaginary, its emblems and significance.

His works are characterized by symmetry, perdurability, and stability, creating sculpture similes and providing them with mobility.
