Paula Baeza Pailamilla

Santiago, 1988

Mapuche Artist.  Studied Pedagogy in Contemporary Dance at Universidad Arcis in Santiago de Chile, and then continued studying a Master Degree in Theory and History of Art at Universidad de Chile, also in Santiago. 

From the year 2011 has developed her work within performance, basing on her own Mapuche identity, taking the conflict to the public space, to question herself and also, her historic, political and social environment. 

Following that path, her performances approach the condition of invisibility of the Mapuche women in the city and the diasporic condition in wich they live, displaced from their territories. 

Has participated in individual creations as collective ones and her work has traveled between the street and the museum, or between the street and the art gallery. 

Since 2016 its part of the Mapuche Collective Rangiñtulewfu.
