Between June 14 and September 10, Il Posto showed the first part of the exhibition «Y de pronto ya no había más orilla» (And suddenly there was no more shore), which attempts to think about the concepts of wet and dry, water and desert, based on different works from the Il Posto Collection. In the context of this exhibition, the director of Il Posto Documentos, Antonio Echeverría, interviewed curator Gala Berger to talk about the curatorial work developed for this exhibition and the most relevant aspects of the artworks exhibited in it.
The first part of the exhibition «Y de pronto no había más orilla» addresses the concepts of liquidity, fluidity and the changing states of water as metaphors for non-normative forms of existence that urge us to put an end to an anthropocentric vision of the world. The pieces exhibited here remind us of the interdependence between humidity, life, saliva, river, plant, rain and what it implies to understand water not so much as an inert resource but as a living force that is also the only possibility for the future.
